SUMMARY

The Warehouse Manager will ensure that all warehouse activities are carried out efficiently and profitably.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 5 – 10 years experience in inventory control and/or warehouse management supervisory experience strongly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel, Outlook and the internet. Ability to work from multiple tabs/windows across multiple programs
  • Ability to gather data, analyze/interpret information, prepare reports
  • Ensures efficient warehouse operations through collaboration and coordination with other departments.
  • Completes all required management reports.
  • Executes maintenance activities when needed.
  • Researches, identifies, and presents new ideas to improve warehouse operations.
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Warehouse
    • Maintains receiving and out bound shipping coordinated thru enforcing standard program, operational and personnel policies and procedures.
    • Develop and implement programs and operational policies, practices and procedures where necessary.
    • Ensure disciplined adherence to these programs, practices and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with internal, federal, state and local rules/laws for safe operations of fork lifts and shuttle vehicles.
    • Monitor to ensure compliance.
    • Maintain a clean facility in good physical condition.
    • Drive performance
      • Orders Shipped Complete
      • Order Fill Rate
      • Orders Shipped on Time
      • Damage
      • Pallets Loaded/hour
      • Cost metrics (Labor hr/outbound truck, shuttle costs, etc)
      • Finished Goods Inventory Adjustments
  • Ensure internal and outside storage facilities are compliant with all audit requirements and all outside facilities are adequately situated financially – insurance coverage, hurricane readiness, solvency, etc.
  • Space Management
    • Coordinate with cross functional teams to efficiently manage the storage space network both internal and external:
      • Raw Materials
      • Packaging Materials
      • Obsolete Materials
      • Finished Goods
      • Etc.
    • Coordinate with cross functional team to ensure inventory accuracy for all storage activities - accurate storage location, quantities and materials stored (lots, production dates, item codes, etc.).
    • Develop corrective action to deal with exceptions when discovered to prevent reoccurrences.
    • Cost management and control
      • Internal costs (Labor, materials and forklift maintenance)
      • External costs
        • Trailers

        • Fuel
        • Other costs identified

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing of all shifts.
  • Hires and trains new warehouse employees.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Determining timeframe: Never = 0 hours daily; Occasionally = 3 hours daily; Frequently = 3-6 hours daily; Constantly > 6 hours daily

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Be able to stand for at least an eight to twelve (8-12) hour period.
  • Be able to lift, carry, handle and grasp at least 35 lbs (Occasionally).
  • Be able to lift, carry, handle and grasp at least 50 lbs (Occasionally).
  • Be able to push and pull a wheeled pallet jack or rack to move items weighing up to 400 lbs.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from waist to overhead and be able to lift from the floor to waist up to 50 lbs (Occasionally).
  • Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the warehouse.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Be able to work in a cold environment in temperatures as low as 40 degrees.
  • Be able to work in a heated environment in temperatures as high as 110 degrees.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
