The VP of DTC and Marketing will lead the overall DTC effort reporting to the CMO and SVP of Ecommerce. This individual will be the single individual responsible for overall day-to-day operations, overall forecasting and budget management of the Perdue DTC effort but have specific responsibility for demand generation. The VP will have 3 primary direct reports: VP of technology and marketing operations, Director of Logistics and Senior Manager of Merchandising. The VP will also be responsible for helping drive the strategic direction and priorities of the DTC effort three primary pillars: DTC revenue generation, traffic driver for Perdue customer base and new product testing platform.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the DTC demand generation, merchandising and logistics
  • Develop and manage the revenue, expense, margin and volume forecast
  • Build and manage a detailed demand generation plan by channel
  • Develop a consumer segmentation structure and implement it
  • Ensure that all marketing, technology and customer service efforts are A/B tested
  • Continually look for opportunities and challenge the assumptions of the business to position the Perdue DTC as a leading place where consumers can find solutions for their protein needs
  • Prepare and present monthly business case results to Perdue Management Committee
  • Work cross functionally within the Perdue enterprise to ensure the DTC effort is accretive to both the business performance and customer relationships
  • Work with the R&D, ready to eat and ready to cook marketing teams to leverage the DTC site for new product and product reformulation testing
  • Ability to be both a player and coach across the disciplines

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Merchandising or related discipline. Increasing experience in a food related, internet based, direct to consumer business - 10+ years. P&L ownership. Excellent people management ability. Comfortable in a start-up, ambiguous and changing environment and able to work without regular and direct management. Excellent written and oral ability – capable of presenting to top management complex issues and ideas in an easy understand format. Mastery of MS tools -Excel, Power Point and Word.
