Job Description:

The Vice President, Walmart Sales Team Lead will be a highly effective sales leader with extensive experience in the food and beverage as well as private label industries. He/she will have a proven track record of success growing revenue, generating increased sales penetration and deepening partnerships with key accounts. He/she is a fast learner who can come up the learning curve in a new organization (and likely a new business model), assimilate into a strong culture (company and community) and rapidly get his/her arms around priorities and key objectives.

This leader is a compelling storyteller who leverages consumer insights, competitive analysis and category overview to dimensionalize market opportunities. This executive is a strategic, "go-to" business leader who is gifted at working across teams and influencing a large group to drive results in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

NOTE: The role must be located in Bentonville, Arkansas.


  • Elevate Treehouse&##39;s leadership presence with Walmart resulting in a stronger strategic seat at the table with their senior leadership.
  • Develop and deliver the long-term vision, three-year strategies and near-term business plans to create TreeHouse&##39;s competitive position within Walmart.
    • Create Strategic Growth Summits & Joint Business Planning
    • Identify voids in the customer mix and enable TreeHouse to deliver cross-category solutions.
    • Sell-in the TreeHouse Promise - a set of core strengths and capabilities which sets TreeHouse apart from the competition.
    • Align key stakeholders to commercialize the plans, including guiding Division Sales leaders to focus on key initiatives.
  • Lead TreeHouse&##39;s on-the-ground presence at Walmart. Strengthen positive relations with senior management across all divisions of Walmart.
  • Create and implement work processes that forge highly productive and efficient working relationships with Walmart and TreeHouse executives, including gaining a clear understanding of customer needs, and deliver superior service and customer satisfaction in line with organizational costs to serve.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer in the annual business planning process for senior management.
    • Work across the Divisions to increase understanding of and alignment to the strategic priorities for Walmart
  • Work cross-functionally to develop partnerships with other key disciplines (e.g., marketing, logistics and manufacturing) to ensure that company resources are focused to maximize opportunities.
  • Develop compelling selling stories that present category management expertise and clear, fact-based recommendations that lead to execution.
  • Deliver the financial goals and targets:
    • Maximize the customer P&L versus the annual operating plan; key measures include dollar sales, profit, deal spend, share, inventory/working capital, etc.
    • Provide an appropriate contingency process and manage budget execution, including pricing plans, shipper marketing, communication platforms and financial metrics that support the customers&##39; scorecard strategies and programs, as well as promote positive sales growth and customer relations.
    • Routinely evaluate spending for effectiveness and efficiency, identifying opportunities to enhance productivity of spending and executional excellence.
  • Create an environment that gives the individual/team the responsibility and the authority to achieve goals, as well as holding them accountable for attaining those goals.
    • Coach, train and motivate a team
    • Enable the selling organization with programs, tools and initiatives that best serve the retail customer base.


  • Fifteen+ years of food and beverage as well as private label sales experience.
  • Background with a progressive company known for its sales discipline and winning results. Has driven growth in a commercially responsible manner through the development and management of strategic customer plans, critical initiatives and top-to-top relationships.
  • In-depth understanding of Walmart.
  • Critical. Of particular importance is experience effectively leading complex customer teams and over-delivering on customer satisfaction.
  • A proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and achieving growth objectives.
  • This leader has met or exceeded business goals by smartly driving penetration with current accounts.
  • Has instilled discipline in a selling process and elevated sales team performance.
  • Developed best practices in sales cycle planning to ensure proactive selling, on-time alignment, forecasting, budgeting and execution excellence.
  • Undergraduate degree required; an M.B.A. a plus.
