The Blount family has been in the food business since 1880. Our product Line includes refrigerated and frozen gourmet soups, side dishes and entrees for food service and retail. The Company, headquartered in Fall River, MA, is the largest producer of clam chowder in New England and the largest manufacturer of Lobster bisque in the country.

Summary: The User Services Administrator is part of the team responsible for ensuring continuity of technology services for Blount internal customers by providing the planning, skills, and knowledge necessary to support, maintain and troubleshoot technology solutions. Perform duties as a first level technical resource in a virtualized multi-site Microsoft Windows network responsible for supporting a rapidly growing manufacturing environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and follow tasks through to completion in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the support and administration of the technical landscape which includes:
    • Terminal Server/RDS
    • SharePoint Online/Teams
    • Exchange 2013 /Office 365
    • AD, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, WDS
    • HP & Dell, Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, and Thin Clients
    • HP Procurve/Aruba managed switches, IP routing, VLANS, VOIP
    • Barracuda Firewall/VPN
    • Ruckus AP’s, Controllers
    • Appassure Backup/Replication
    • VOIP Phone System
  2. Manage, prioritize, and report on all support tickets using Zendesk ticketing application
  3. Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to systems, applications, software, and hardware.
  4. Assist the team with upgrades and migrations of servers and network infrastructure
  5. Display a commitment to customer service - exceed internal customers’ expectations
  6. Assist the team with Exchange/O365 administration, maintenance and backup
  7. Assist the team with maintaining network security to the facilities
  8. Assist the team with the administration of Sophos Antivirus and Antispam solutions.
  9. Troubleshoot networked hardware (NAS, WAP’s tablets, mobile devices, etc.)
  10. Provide user training to office staff including but not limited to software applications, hardware, policies and procedures, best practices, and security.
  11. Maintain inventory of installed software, licenses and hardware.
  12. Contribute to and maintain internal IT knowledge base.
  13. Maintain and manage phone systems including contracts, extensions, voicemail users and evaluate new communication solutions.
  14. Maintain hardware, software, and support warranties and agreements.
  15. Ability to support off-hours will be required. Participate in IT on-call rotation providing 24x7 support to business customers.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum two years’ experience functioning as a first level, hands-on technical resource in virtualized multi-site MS Windows LAN/WAN.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Prior experience working for a small/medium sized company, comfortable with wearing many technology hats and responding to shifting priorities.
  • Prior experience with SharePoint & O365 a plus.
  • MCSE/VCP training/certifications a plus
