Trade Sales Analyst

Position Overview:

Johnsonville, LLC, is seeking a smart, data focused individual to join our Sales Team. The Trade Sales Analyst will utilize analytical rigor to identify efficiency opportunities in pricing and trade promotions. This role requires a strong aptitude in systems, data hierarchies, pricing processes and master data management. The ideal candidate will have a deep curiosity of analyzing data sets, highlighting trends, and an innovative mindset.

Responsibilities:

Trade Strategy and Pricing

  • Develops new analytical skills, tools, and processes to champion the rapidly evolving practice of trade promotion analysis
  • Work closely with marketing and SI&A to refine pricing and trade strategies/tactics for key product groups, based on trade promotion analysis

Business Analytics

  • Analyze and validate internal, IRI, and customer data to assess promotion performance
  • Using your analysis, create future strategies, and apply new analytical processes that will be shared with internal Johnsonville teams as well as key strategic retailers
  • Play a role in score-carding of key performance metrics

Systems & Reporting

  • Partner with Sales Teams on weekly/monthly reporting to ensure customer plan meets our strategic KPI targets
  • Work with Accounts Receivable to ensure accuracy and transparency of promotion deductions
  • Work with Finance to ensure transparency of promotions for month/year end reporting

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in support of Field Sales, Business Development, Category Management, Trade Analytics or Revenue Management
  • Experience working across multiple data sources
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and diverse relationships
  • Financial modeling and P&L analysis

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with natural inquisitiveness to exploring data and looking for insights to drive business decisions

    • Ability to retrieve, merge, interpret, and explain data from numerous sources
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point) required, SAP experience preferred
  • Proficiency in web-based reporting tools (SAP BOBJ, IRI, or other) preferred
  • Solid communication skills (verbal, written, listening) and the ability to interact with all levels of Johnsonville customers and members with integrity
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative on all work assignments
  • Desire for continued growth and learning
