Scope of Responsibilities

Supports Annual Customer Planning Activities

  • Communicate Bottoms Up Planning process including:
    • Communicating timeline & process to Sales via emails & presentations.
    • Deploying Planning Guidance

  • Analyze forecast to reconcile gaps:
    • Bottom-up plan and budget by creating, updating, & communicating reports
    • Create & maintain reporting to enable productive Monthly Director&##39;s Call and system forecast, & Consensus forecast dialogue
  • Build Content for Sales Plan Dialogue meeting
    • Prepare content & meeting templates to guide productive discussion
  • Create, maintain, and communicate reporting that drives visibility to holistic customer investment in planning activities

Analyzes Sales Trade Spending Activities

  • Creates, maintains, & communicates Analytics related to Sales Spend budget in the organization. Including:
    • Track & enforce accrual and incremental trade deployed to balance sales spending to budget at national and key customer level
    • Develop, track and enforce trade promotion policies (minimum net unit cost guidelines, max weeks on promotion, etc.)
    • Provide guidance on event ROI criteria, facilitate evaluation of promotions & incremental trade spending proposals
    • Project sales trade spend liability at key financial milestones (LE, Budget, Full Year Results)
  • Track Sales Consumer Promotion Budget (racks & fixtures)

Develop and implement reporting to drive higher Trade Spend ROI

  • Lead analytic process to evaluate and determine highest ROI promotional strategies
  • Implement timeline to deploy customer investment earlier in sales planning cycle
  • Execute post-event evaluation, to include synthesizing company financials with market consumption
  • Evaluate pricing strategy and use findings to inform channel pricing strategy.
  • Create tighter connection between incremental trade investments and volume commitment

Communicate effectively between Sales Finance, IT, & Sales

  • Communicate with Sales regularly to ensure Trade Strategy is being implemented.
  • Work closely with IT and Finance to understand and offer enhancements to our planning and reporting capabilities

Specific Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with forecasting software and promotional planning/deduction management systems
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel)

Education and Work Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree Required
  • 3-5 years of analytical experience
  • 3-5 years working within Sales Reporting and Trade Systems
  • Preferred experience implementing and optimizing trade promotion management and/or optimization software
  • Preferred experience in CPG industry
