Mojave Foods Corporation , a subsidiary of McCormick & Company, Incorporated and nationwide manufacturer & distributor of Hispanic Consumer Products is seeking a Team Manager - Maintenan located (in its Manufacturing Plant at 6200 E. Slauson Ave in Commerce, CA) . This Team Manager - Maintenance will report to the Operations Manager.

With more than $130 Million in annual sales, the Company manufactures, markets and distributes spices, seasoning mixes, condiments and other flavorful products to the Hispanic Community - retail outlets, food manufacturers and foodservice businesses. POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, this position manages and directs all maintenance activities and provides leadership and technical expertise to production department and distribution center at the Mojave Plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading and developing direct reports while fostering a team environment
  • Meeting or exceeding established goals (safety, process reliability - PR%, cost, waste, quality and sanitation) as they relate to the plant performance. Responsible for performance metrics
  • Spare parts process leader/owner.
  • Serving as a maintenance resource for all utility mechanics in areas such effective maintenance, operational based - automatous maintenance, machine shop, maintenance planning and lubrication processes.
  • Supporting and developing teams to ensure that information flow, personnel development, problem-solving, goal-setting and process improvements are an integral part of the daily activities.
  • Managing training needs for the PM group to ensure that skill levels are managed and advanced as needed to support plant equipment
  • Resource planning, daily management and implementation of key initiatives including Safety, Effective Maintenance, supporting sustained levels of Autonomous Maintenance and delivery of PR% improvements.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and reducing equipment performance losses and elimination of repetitive loss.
  • Leading teams to develop cultural and actionable plans to ensure continuous improvement throughout the plant and distribution center
  • Working cross-functionally to resolve issues
  • Managing cost spending/overtime/budget controls and scheduling
  • Facility maintenance at both plant and DC.
  • Champion in Total Productive Maintenance.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising maintenance employees in a manufacturing plant
  • Experience improving Process Reliability (PR %) and/or Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE %)
  • Experience with an ERP (i.e. SAP)
  • Expert troubleshooter and strong problem solver with demonstrated experience utilizing root cause analysis processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, team leadership, communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong action-oriented focus
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet business demands

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing industry
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish
