Tax Accountant

Job Summary

The Indirect Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for researching and preparing returns for Sales/Use Tax, GST/HST, Property Tax, RV, and other indirect taxes, ensuring the company stay on proper compliance as required. This position also supports other departments with all indirect tax-related matters, responds to notices from tax authorities, and maintains tax databases.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare returns and remit payments for Sales/Use Tax, GST/HST, Property Tax, RV, and other indirect taxes.
  • Respond to notices from tax authorities on all the above mentioned taxes.
  • Perform any necessary tax research and analysis on all the above mentioned taxes.
  • Prepare month end reconciliations relating to all tax accounts.
  • Prepare necessary journal entries to properly accrue for all tax liabilities and prepayments to tax jurisdictions.
  • Maintain resale and exemption certificates from customers/for vendors.
  • Maintain and update Sales Tax matrices to reflect changes in tax rules and/or rate as necessary.
  • Maintain, update, and troubleshoot Tax Engine (EB-Tax) within ERP system (Oracle).
  • Support Account Payables with day-to-day Sales Tax-related issues.
  • Support audits on all the above mentioned taxes.
  • Support tax credits & incentives compliance
  • Special projects as assigned

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 2 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
    • 2 Years – Experience in Position
    • 0 Years – Experience managing people/projects
