Responsible for monthly closing and financial statement preparation. Prepare journal entries, analysis, and reconciliations. Assist Controller with budgets, year-end audit, and special projects.

  • Month-end closing
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Perform variance analysis
  • Prepare fixed asset entries and run various reports in the SAGE system
  • Review and post standard recurring entries
  • Perform general ledger account analysis
  • Prepare or review account analysis
  • Review journal entries
  • Review bank reconciliations
  • Process AP transactions for meat purchases
  • Review AP invoices for Sales Tax Compliance
  • Provide backup coverage for general AP and AR transactions
  • Assists with the preparation of budgets
  • Perform periodic review of ACS billings
  • Preparation of schedules for year-end audit
  • Special projects and analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Advanced Excel and the MS suite of products is required.
  • Experience in SAP ERP system is a plus.
  • CPA – is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional knowledge and experience in accounting management including problem solving, conflict resolution skills, consulting skills, operational management skills and analytical skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting including thorough skills knowledge plus the application of general accounting theory.
  • Ethical, honest, and trustworthy with confidential information.
  • A starter that can work independently and coordinate with others.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously is a plus.
  • Ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines.
  • Good arithmetic, reading, and typing skills.
  • B.S. Accountancy required
  • 1 -3 years of experience working in corporate and public accounting
  • Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands or finger, talk, see, hear, feel objects, tools, or controls; may be required to lift up to 15 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision to a computer screen.
  • Ability to work long hours as needed.
  • Understand and follow verbal instruction, written instruction and company policies.
