Job Description Summary
Oversee the successful execution of our strategies to engage and deliver our key brand/value proposition messages to our customers through events (live), print and digital channels. Creates and manages the overall event calendar for key activities such as Food Fanatics, President#39;s Cup, Sales Conferences, Vendor Forum and various functional meetings. Responsible for crafting meeting strategy, building impactful meeting content, solidifying location and overseeing successful execution of the events. Ensure that event execution exceeds internal and external customer expectations, while staying within stated budget guidelines. Work with internal and external agencies to manage events.
Build strategy and manage team responsible for activating our brand messaging through our key content outlets including our print, digital and social platforms. Create, curate and deploy appropriate content to support our market, brand and customer initiatives, including overseeing our digital content strategy and the publication of our Food Fanatics Magazine. Achieve stated digital KPI#39;s for driving awareness, engagement conversion and equity. Ensure content and thematic development and execution is on strategy. Deliver materials on budget, including the receipt of vendor funding in support of our efforts.
Plan, manage and execute all events including, but not limited to, Food Fanatics, President#39;s Cup, Sales Conferences, Investor Day and Vendor Forum.
Manage event budgets that total in excess of $12mm on an annual basis.
Direct and manage the selection of event locations, venues, thematic materials and overall organization. Ensure content achieves stated objectives.
Oversee the strategy for Food Fanatics Live events. Ensure that locations, floor plans, displays, content and thematic materials support the overall strategic initiatives of the organization. Operate within stated budget.
Able to present and work with key stakeholders, including the CEO, CMO, CIO and other senior leaders, to develop content and presentations for events.
Handle confidential and/or proprietary information during the event preparation phases.
Manage relationships with outside vendors instrumental to ensuring the success of our events.
Develop annual plan to continue to increase brand awareness for US Foods via our digital content strategy through various industry, digital and owned channels
Oversee both outbound and inbound digital and social communication channels to ensure we are increasing USF brand equity and achieving stated communication objectives.
Oversee the strategy and development of Food Fanatics magazine. Fine tune content and distribution strategy to keep this tool relevant and industry-leading. Ensure costs and vendor collections are on budget.
Develop, measure and report on key metrics to communicate to our internal (and external) shareholders our KPI#39;s for content, communications and events.
Utilize trend-relevant digital tools and data to update and improve our event and brand experiences for our customers and internal/external suppliers.
Manage and develop a team of marketers following our cultural values and leadership principles.
Content Manager, Social Media manager, Field Events Manager, Events Specialist
Internal: All levels within the organization, from ELT to key SLT to field leadership
External: Agencies handling event production, support, assets; social media and magazine editing and publishing
• At least a four-year college degree in business, marketing, communications, advertising.
• Event marketing and tradeshow technology experience.
A minimum of 7 years#39; experience, including specifically in marketing events and/or tradeshows as well as brand management. Previous experience in the food industry a plus. Distinction of #39;Certified Event Planner#39; a plus. Must have managed events with total event budget in excess of $7mm.
Must be open and able to travel, able to support the build/strike of trade show booths and other event activities.

• Experience in a complex organization which supports a variety of stakeholders. Ability to build and maintain excellent working partnerships across the organization.
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Able to work with various content management, online marketing systems and apps.
• High proficiency required in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Microsoft Outlook.
