Summary: The Sr. Forecast Analyst is responsible for managing the overall forecasts for designated business areas through the integration of customer and business intelligence along with business analytics and statistical forecasting and tools. The analyst will support the business by providing an integrative demand planning perspective for decision-making and issue resolution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish a SKU level forecast through a combination of qualitative and quantitative techniques
  • Monitor, evaluate, and update statistical models and parameters as needed to ensure statistical models reflect desired results based on current business conditions.
  • Access and monitor forecasts within customers systems and make recommendations to improve accuracy
  • Increase business knowledge and actively engage with other functional teams, such as Sales and Marketing, to ensure customer and business knowledge is gathered and applied to the forecast
  • Monitor business-specific performance indicators and perform post-period analysis to determine forecast improvement opportunities.
  • Provide the ‘voice of reason’ when working cross-functionally to develop and communicate a consensus forecast that drives supply chain planning
  • Provide information to management as needed regarding past periods, future forecasts, and associated key drivers
  • Achieve consensus for the demand plan by facilitating a monthly collaborative planning process with Sales, Marketing, and Finance
  • Provide subject matter expertise for cross-functional initiatives
  • Leverage IT for collecting and cleansing data
  • Provide graphical reporting and performance measurements
  • Benchmark and work towards improving performance
  • Develop planning strategies for new and discontinued products
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, business analytics, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline is required

Experience:

  • Must have 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible business and analytical or statistical work experience
  • Strong forecasting knowledge and experience is required
  • A cross-functional background with experiences in Demand Planning, Product Planning, and/or Customer Service is desired.
  • SCM/SAP experience is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Quantitative background with strong problem solving and analysis experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication of forecasting/demand planning information in simple and concise terms
  • Strong systems acumen, including ERP systems
  • Ability to influence and work effectively with diverse associates and customers ranging from entry-level to executive-level positions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to develop positive interdepartmental relationships.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments, including but not limited to Sales and Marketing, Operations, Finance, and IT.
  • Passion for learning with strong problem solving and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects and clearly communicate direction internally and externally.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise.
  • The work environment involves moderate exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, fire, and electrical hazards.
  • Must have the ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and reach to perform various functions. Must be able to communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
