The Senior Director, Commercial Finance is responsible for leading the Customer planning and forecasting processes for US and Canada and setting and tracking the execution of the revenue management strategy for the company. The role partners with the Sales organization in developing joint business plans for strategic customers to deliver profitable, sustainable growth and in developing and executing the Company’s trade and promotional strategy. Furthermore, the role partners with Marketing to ensure adequate funding and tracking of initiatives.

Job Description:

  • Leads topline planning, forecasting and reporting processes across all Customer Teams in the US and Canada
  • Collaborates with the Sales teams to develop joint business plans for strategic customers to deliver profitable, sustainable growth
  • Lead the Financial period close process for SG&A and Topline to ensure accurate and timely accruals and P&L reporting
  • Partners with Customer Teams on trade and promotion strategy development and execution
  • Develops quantitative analyses and makes strategic recommendations for accelerating volume, net revenue and profit growth
  • Analyzes business trends and performance against company objectives and partners with Sales to recommend contingency activity through Pricing Council
  • Owns tracking and reporting of all customer performance, promotional calendars and activity
  • Leads technology solutions and system automation initiatives to support sales/trade planning, forecasting and reporting including MEI/Exceedra (trade system) and SAP
  • Partners with Category Management and Consumer Insights counterparts to plan brand and category reporting systems such as IRI
  • Provides necessary input to control to ensure efficient customer deductions process for US and Canada
  • Develops and maintains policy and process documentation to ensure proper controls
  • Cultivates strong cross-functional relationships with business partners (Marketing, Sales, FP&A and Supply Chain)

Position Requirements:

  • MBA Strongly Preferred
  • Minimum 12-15 years CPG experience, including Sales Planning and Deductions; Market Research experience a plus
  • Independent thought-leader; self-motivated and self-directed work style; ability to work with a diverse team
  • Ability to thrive in a high paced work environment, pay close attention to detail and meet business-driven deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to articulate clear direction and influence others
  • Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of SAP and Trade systems
  • Sound understanding of the complexity of business issues faced internally and externally
  • Excellent project management, prioritization and resource utilization abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
