Support DFA Ingredient Solutions Business with Raw Material procurement purchasing, strategical and tactical execution. Act as a center of excellence for raw material market data analytics by developing strong market knowledge in strategic and tactical raw material categories. Effectively manage spend and relationships for select transactional raw material categories.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support complex sourcing events and strategies for raw material team:
  • Compile category spend detail, perform analytics, and conduct requested research (e.g. market analysis, supplier financial review)
  • Collaborate on the design of RFPs, Raw Material Scorecards, and weekly savings tracker for raw material categories
  • Where appropriate, manage RFP process for select events and provide analytics of results to category leads
  • Manage all aspects of assigned raw material categories (which will be predominately transactional in nature):
  • Manage supplier relationships
  • Conduct RFPs and establish contracts (where appropriate)
  • Ensure competitive pricing is established
  • Monitor purchasing activity against contractual details for opportunities and issues (e.g., contract expiration, thresholds (both spend and volume), non-compliant spending)
  • New Raw Material supplier onboarding:
  • Collaborate with operational procurement on new suppliers set up
  • Confirm all raw material specs for new suppliers meet or exceed needs of DFA business partners
  • Collaborate with QA to qualify new vendor materials and locations

  • Support Raw Material business spend and execution
  • Align strong relationship with risk management to inform category leads of abnormal market movements or swings, and identify weekly hedge opportunities in relation to dairy, oil and energy markets.
  • Provide detailed and timely analysis of market data, specifically, Dairy, Energy, Sugar and Oils
  • Record and analyze weekly spot buys of specific commodities
  • Maintain and update purchasing information records in dairy.com
  • Maintain and update annual commodity contracts with suppliers on a monthly basis
  • Monitor SAP variance reports and analyze the differences to budget
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain approved system information (e.g., suppliers, items, and specifications)
  • Support strategic team with data and tools:
  • Research and engage with potential new suppliers and co-manufactures to develop new business opportunities

    • Develop and maintain 5 year market trends in both strategic and tactical categories.
    • Develop and maintain annual raw material bid cost file
    • Work in Anaplan to create budget and cost savings template specific for raw material categories
    • Gather data for corporate programs
    • Collaborate with Sales and R&D to identify new business opportunities with new or existing suppliers
