Job Title:- SHUTTLE DRIVER

Department: Warehouse

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

COMMENTS: This job description reflects assignment of essential functions, it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

SUMMARY: Movement of van or bulk tankers relating to daily inbound and outbound operations. Perform duties to unload incoming materials and load outgoing shipments to customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Movement of inbound loads of raw materials from yard to dock.
  • Movement of empty trailers from yard to dock for outbound loading.
  • Ability to read and understand status board and production schedules in order to position proper raw materials to dock doors prior to production usage.
  • Assure plant equipment and your work areas are maintained in an orderly and sanitary condition.
  • Assure your work habits are in accord with all company regulations and safety practices.
  • Maintain the machinery and equipment associated with your duties in good operating order through your own actions and the submission of written work orders.
  • Work from purchase orders, bills of lading, pull sheets, load sheets and instructions.
  • Notify incoming trucks to back up to dock.
  • Check trailer contents to ensure product and quantity is correct.
  • Unload trucks and organization of raw materials. Assign storage locations.
  • Retrieve and match shipping bills of lading and pull sheets.
  • Pull orders according to ship order.
  • Load trucks or stage pallets.
  • Complete bills of lading for outgoing shipments, complete load sheets with product, quantity and dates.
  • Complete inventory cycle counts and pull damaged product as needed.
  • Responsible for food product quality and safety.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. Two (2)" years tractor/trailer driving experience required.
  • Valid class A CDL license required.
  • · Ability to read and understand status boards and production schedules.
  • Ability (and certification) to operate forklift as needed.
  • Ability to use computer.
  • Follow all company policies including (but not limited to) safety, work rules, GMP&##39;s, etc.
  • Keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Moderate physical effort required to stack mixed pallets, which is equivalent to occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material or, frequently average weights.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention required to perform duties, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
  • Must be able to talk, hear, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, stand, walk, and sit.
  • Must be able to use common hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
