KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Material supplier ownership as the Technical Resource and Relationship owner for one or more suppliers
  • Leads supplier meetings (SLEA/KPI based), on a regular basis to review critical measures and track progress
  • Lead material improvement projects, which could include managing material changes, qualifying alternate materials, delivering material cost savings
  • Qualify all material changes at material supplier locations, our coffee plants and contract manufacturers
  • Assist in problem solving as the packaging materials owner with data analyses from suppliers, plant operations, customers, and consumers
  • Partner with Product Development, Engineering and Marketing in decisions on final package design for new packaging initiatives
  • Co-sponsors/participates in/leads supply chain loss analysis with Logistics and Operations
  • Responds with site organizations and suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Corporate Purchasing, Transportation, and Suppliers
  • Involvement in developing and delivering Packaging optimization work as part of Coffee TSO Masterplan
  • Provides technical coaching and collaboration within the TSO Department and Plant Operations to drive continuous improvements in material quality
  • Technical resource for material specific lab equipment and is capable to perform accurate measurements and train others
  • Manages specifications and changes with associated testing or project work, as needed
  • Provides timely reports and technical summaries on testing, validations and problem-solving measures
  • Continued technical mastery development in packaging, data analyses or problem solving is expected
  • Builds expertise and practical experience in the use of Focused Improvement and Initiative Management pillars tools as part of overall SQMS (Smucker Quality Management System) capability building
  • Seasonal Intern Management may be associated with role

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Education

  • A Bachelor&##39;s Degree in Engineering is required

Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience is required
  • Prior experience working with people and teams in a high-performance work environment is desired
  • Experience in Plant Logistics, Quality Systems, Packing & Process system management is highly desired
