Griffith Foods is a global manufacturer of food products. We provide a wide range of taste and texture components for food industry customers throughout the world. Our products include seasoning blends, dry mixes, coating systems, dough blends, crumbs, flavors, sauces and food bases that are used in an extensive variety of application from snack foods and processed meat and poultry to ready meals. Our customers include food processors, restaurant operators and grocery retailers. Provide financial support to the Manufacturing, Supply Chain departments, and cost function within the GFUS organization. This includes reporting and analysis for all manufacturing operations within the Alsip and Lithonia plants including (but not limited to) spending, productivity, capacity utilization, variance analysis, budgeting development, and monthly forecasting. The position will ensure inventories are properly valued and standards are accurately set and maintained in the plants.

This position will also provide support to sister companies Custom Culinary and Innova Flavors in the areas of general ledger accounting and financial report analysis and reconciliations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

GFUS Accounting Items

  • Daily Responsibilities Cost rollups for new parts added to the DAX system, Sales report updates and publication, as necessary.

  • Month end Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation, reconciliation and analysis of month end manufacturing entries for the closing process as assigned.

  • Responsible for generating and analyzing work order and production variance reporting for the Alsip and Lithonia plant leadership teams. Analysis will require resolution of data accuracy issues and recommendations on corrective actions to be taken.

  • Monthly reporting package as it relates to key financial metrics (i.e. Inventory valuation, Loss on Inventory, production variance analysis, at risk inventory analysis, actual versus budgeted spend, etc.).

  • Overall General Ledger clean-up within the DAX system.

  • Balance sheet account reconciliations for key accounts.

  • Company-wide Headcount reporting

  • Post-close distribution of departmental reports, including comments on significant variances

  • Other Recurring Activities

  • Key figure in the semi-annual physical inventory

  • Assist in the development of the annual operating plan incorporating meetings with department heads and update of the shared Masterfile

  • Balance sheet reconciliations as needed for quarterly compliance, interim and annual audit requirements

  • Work closely with Pricing team to provide cost analytics as requested.

Improvement Activities

  • Assist in the ERP implementation of Microsoft D365.

  • Identify and support implementation of improvements related to company performance and reporting.

  • Participates in the development and implementation of company key initiatives supporting the business.

  • Participates in special projects as required/assigned.


  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong written and communication skills.

  • Individual must be able to work with tight deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient computer skills are required. Advanced Excel usage including but not limited to VLOOKUP, pivot table usage and development, formula development.

  • Experience in Microsoft ERP is a plus.
