What We Need:

  • We need a Senior Buyer who is responsible for supporting the procurement strategy development implementation across all manufacturing sites.

What You Will Do:

  • You will support the development and implementation of best practice Procurement work processes across the Procurement organization
  • You will manage inventory for ingredients and packaging to achieve established targets
  • You will monitor and assist in inventory as it relates to production quality
  • You will review material demand reports and prepare purchase orders
  • You will develop Strategic Supplier Relationships to jointly drive value beyond cost, leveraging supplier capability to deliver both top and bottom-line business benefit
  • You will evaluate strategies based on changing market conditions and provide inputs during strategic sourcing activities, including internal and external analysis and negotiations
  • You will drive development of cost savings/value add initiatives with suppliers
  • You will ensure the quality of materials, competitive pricing, adherence to company policies, Procurement processes and endeavors related to the operation of a proactive and strategic Procurement Business Unit
  • You will coordinate Supply Chain initiatives including working capital management and minimizing obsolescence
  • You will support ingredient/packaging category strategies that effectively balance business unit requirements and ensure consistent and quality availability of supply
  • You will ensure all contracts are issued timely and accurately. Review material demand reports and prepare purchase orders
  • You will purchase the highest quality merchandise from established supplier list
  • You will maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories
  • You will review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods to be purchased
  • You will evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes
  • You will communicate with Vendors and manage any changes, issues, or concerns; as well as handle vendor claims for damaged or defective raw materials and packaging in a timely manner
  • You will follow orders from purchasing to invoice approval, tracking, and documenting the entire process
  • You will work across the organization and partner directly with Operations and Quality
  • You will develop cost savings scenarios, articulates key decisions and recommendations to Supply Chain Leadership team highlighting service, inventory, and cost tradeoffs
  • You will analyze historical and forecasted usage to recommend annual contract volumes and negotiates contracts
  • You will lead continuous improvement projects for purchasing
  • You will manage assigned ingredients throughout the entire supply chain and communicates risks or disruptions to Supply Chain leadership team
  • You will manage inventory for ingredients to achieve established targets
  • You will work with R&D & Quality, to identify and approve new vendors
  • You will prepare for and lead the discussion in the Daily Tactical Meetings for assigned materials

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business required with related work experience or internships in food manufacturing OR equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related procurement experience
  • Food manufacturing and ingredient buying experience preferred, but will also consider manufacturing experience in other consumer packaged goods industries
  • Previous experience with MRP systems is preferred
  • Manage buying tasks using Excel, ERP, and reporting
  • Business or Operations experience, with solid quantitative skills; excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Builds strong supplier relationships and influences long-term supplier technology and resource allocation
  • Master negotiator, consistently achieves competitive advantage/beneficial outcome in complex negotiations
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize under pressure
  • Solid communication skills concentrated on data gathering, meeting facilitation and data dissemination
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Table and VLOOKUP)
