Assures compliance to the proper regulatory, customer and GMP&##39;s requirements. Sanitation Supervisor assures that the work groups meet the company’s safety, quality, food safety, customer service, and cost commitments. The position will be responsible for people and team development to ensure continuous improvement while delivering a clean and sanitary workplace. Also, will be responsible for ADP to be to deliver to pay roll on time, Chemical Allocation and dispensing and all corrective action needed from QA. Sanitation Supervisor’s responsibility is to oversee the work of Sanitors as well as clean heavy-duty manufacturing machinery and other areas of the production plant.


  • Manages sanitation department and provides input into plant-wide safety, food safety, and personnel practices.
  • Manages Sanitation and fills in for Vacations for other supervisors at the East and West plant and the Manager.
  • Communicate with the Production Manager, Office Staff, or other department supervisors to troubleshoot issues and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and policies and maintain superior plant cleanliness.
  • Adhere to all safety practices, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Develop sanitation training on proper cleaning, food safety, and safety procedures and policies per the Sanitation MSS requirements.
  • Additional training will be offered as needed for better safety and performance.
  • Provides sanitation Leads and Sanitors on proper titration and proper cleaning techniques following sanitation procedures.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and reviews (as needed) FOF’s Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
  • Manages the proper assignment of day-to-day activities of direct reports.
  • Assures that internal (daily, weekly, quarterly) and external inspections are conducted, and proper corrective action is taken, as needed.
  • Reviews and adequately maintains sanitation records.
  • Analyzes the sanitation data to identify trends and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develops a partnership with quality assurance, operations, and maintenance to meet the company’s objectives.
  • Maintains a systematic procedure for all actions necessary to ensure that the facility is free from conditions that may cause product contamination or adulteration.
  • Responsible for managing staff and disciplinary documentation, termination, and payroll. Accountable for the continuous development of the team.
  • Maintains an exceptional level of sanitation in the plant.
  • Enforces all company policies and procedures.
  • Work with Management and monitor the performance of the departmental budget and quarterly projections.
  • Provides leadership and motivation to foster and maintain cohesiveness and teamwork among associates in the department.
  • Prepares reports/documentation relative to sanitation operations, as required.
  • Review and verify that all assignments are completed and posted on MSS.
  • Manages the sanitation inventory of chemicals and tools.
  • Researches for new technology and supplier of sanitation materials.
  • Supports the development of KPIs and monthly reports.
  • At the management direction, assist in other technical duties necessary to optimize current sanitation processes.
  • Supports the development and management of department budget. Assures that department meets budget goals.


  • Associate degree in Science, Business, or 3-5 years of sanitation experience in the food industry.
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of Quality Systems and Computer Knowledge.
  • Ability to write SOP&##39;s and train employees on new processes and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and effectively present information to peers, senior management, manufacturing employees, and customers.


This job operates in a manufacturing environment and occasionally in an office setting. Extended periods of standing while walking the production floor and occasional period of sitting using a computer or other devices are common.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to balance; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear as defined below:

  1. Ability to communicate orally with employees, management, and peers is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
  1. The ability to remain standing and/or walking position roughly 85% of the time when needed in the plant, as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally (accessing files/storage, office equipment, computers, and other office productivity devices, etc.), is required.
  1. Using a computer while sitting for brief periods is occasional. Must also be able to position self to use and maintain equipment, including under tables and desks.
  1. Occasional heavy lifting exertion of about 75 lbs. of force may be required. Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners).


Observes safety and security procedures such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Material Safety Data (MSD) sheets, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Emergency Evacuations and Building Security; Reports potentially unsafe conditions and injuries: near miss/incidents/accidents; Uses and cares for company equipment and materials properly.
