Job Description:

The Supervisor, Sanitation is responsible for the direction of the Sanitation associates at the manufacturing site on 3rd shift. They are responsible for the daily execution of the plant specific sanitation programs and will work closely with the plant team on an as needed basis.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Sanitation associates. Coordinate scheduling, payroll, assignment of work, training, development, as well as coaching and discipline as required.
  • Responsible for execution of policies and procedures relating to sanitation such as Master Sanitation Schedule, Pest Control, Sanitation Effectiveness, Environmental Monitoring and SSOP&##39;s
  • Ensure housekeeping, GMP&##39;s and overall cleanliness are performed against expectations
  • Keep current of regulatory restrictions and definitions in application of chemical cleaners and sanitizers to help insure safe and legal use
  • Troubleshoot problems and implements corrective actions through root cause analysis.
  • Maintain cost effective programs and practices. Work closely with outside sanitation vendors as needed. Order necessary supplies and manage chemical inventory levels.
  • Support metrics designed to prevent problems that could affect product quality and safety. Execute against measurable performance standards for facility sanitation and periodic cleaning.
  • Investigate sanitation issues, which are resulting in product contamination, reduced shelf-life, or customer rejection of products. Aid in the identification of root cause and corrective actions.
  • Attend technical meetings to continually update knowledge of advances in sanitation

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Required knowledge of items such as Current Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation practices and sanitary design as it relates to food manufacturing.
  • Must possess sound reasoning ability, analytical, and creative skills to investigate problems in order to recommend and implement solutions.
  • Basic understanding of microbiological organisms and their impact on process design, sanitary design and sanitation.
  • Efficient computer skills; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint are required. Familiarity with wed-based programs is preferred including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Power Point and Access)


Education:

High School minimum. Associates or Bachelors degree in relevant field a plus.

Preferred Attributes: 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in operations, quality or sanitation roles. Supervision experience would be considered a plus. Person shall possess specific skills related to food processing and sanitation. Possess strong interpersonal skills, along with supporting technical writing skills and verbal and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA and HACCP. Availability to work on weekends and provide coverage on all shifts as needed.
