Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises sanitation department by observing all company policies, food safety and team member safety practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Works in a supervisor capacity overseeing the work of the sanitation crew and is responsible for the overall cleaning and sanitizing operations of the facility.
  • Conducts the pre-operational SSOP inspection prior to the end of the crew’s shift and assure everything has been cleaned/sanitized for production to begin the next morning.
  • Maintains the Sanitation Master Schedule logbook.
  • Conduct a pre-operational SSOP inspection for the warehouse/dock area/exterior of the facility daily.
  • Monitors the chemical and cleaning supplies on hand and orders as needed.
  • Manages dish room sanitation and building sanitation to maintain company standards and specifications.
  • Trains, evaluates, and develops sanitation employees.
  • Reviews sanitation procedures and practices with focus on quality, productivity, and process improvement.
  • Manages sanitation personnel to ensure facility, operational areas and equipment are cleaned and always in an “audit ready” condition in order to meet HACCP regulations, daily inspections, customer expectations, etc.
  • Schedules shift personnel following the proper procedures and actively works to coordinate the sanitation plan with Production and FSQ departments; ensures any impacts to other operations are communicated and acknowledged.
  • Promotes safe working procedures to prevent accidents to the team; investigates, documents and reports non-conformance issues, team member accidents, and assists in the identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Verifies dishwashers are monitoring chemical concentrations at dish machines and checks concentration of sanitizer used in the production dish room.
  • Produces required shift reports and documentation.
  • Communicates all related matters to shift personnel with daily debriefings.
  • Attends all company provided supervision and management training and meetings.
  • Maintains and updates required OSHA Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Performs other duties as required or directed.

Job Qualifications:

  • Able to read, understand, and communicate in English, Bilingual is helpful.
  • Must possess a basic understanding of food borne pathogens and how cleaning and sanitizing minimize this risk.
  • Must be reliable and professional.
  • Able to work with others as a TEAM PLAYER and efficiently direct the team. This is a "Hands on" position.
  • Computer Literate with Word and Excel.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory and related experience in a sanitation function.
