Overview

R esponsible for cleaning all production equipment and floor surfaces after shutdown and prior to start-up of daily production.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively use water and chemicals, as directed, to hose and clean all production equipment and floor surfaces
  • Knowledge on how to operate, disassemble and reassemble conveyors, equipment and machinery for cleaning
  • Inspect equipment to run and operate safely
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks to include but not limited to pre-production inspections, lubing and replacing basic wear parts
  • Complete quality, safety or maintenance work orders as appropriate
  • Remove and replace floor drains and grates
  • Provide support to the Maintenance and Quality Assurance Departments
  • Adhere to all safety protocols by paying attention to details, being aware of your surroundings and following policies and procedures pertaining to food safety and quality
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience working in a food processing facility is preferred. HAACP and GMP is preferred.



Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to communicate, receive, and transfer written, and oral information effectively. Ability to pay attention to details, work independently with limited supervisor and the ability to document/complete inspection and release forms.

Working Conditions: Fast paced warehouse environment, working in and around machinery and moving vehicles. The noise level is moderate to loud and the temperature in the processing area is below 50 degrees. Working in and around concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia. The concrete floors and work surfaces are wet.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time, ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. Ability to wear required safety clothing and equipment. Ability to hear in a moderate to noisy working environment and respond accordingly. Working in and around concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia.
