Job description:
Responsible for the management of three functions to include: Safety, Environmental and Crisis Management (CM). Ensure the Micor manufacturing site meets and/or exceeds all safety standards. This will be accomplished by enforcing safety compliance

Responsibilities

  • Manages the overall activities of the plant including the directing, advising, and managing of direct and indirect Responsible for the development, implementation and the management of safety programs, policies, and training to ensure compliance with company policies and government mandated programs
  • Create and maintain OSHA logs for facility
  • Responsible for the reduction or elimination of accidents within the facility
  • Conduct investigations when an accident occurs and complete all required paperwork and follow up with corrective actions to prevent possible reoccurrence
  • Facilitate monthly safety training meetings
  • Conduct physical and food safety training for all new hires
  • Manage claims process for work-related injuries
  • Organize and update Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for all ingredients and chemicals and maintain necessary paperwork
  • Food Safety: Assist in development and delivery of Quality/Food Safety training
  • Compile and submit the SARA Title III Hazardous Material Report and maintain the SWPPP (storm water) and SPCC (spill prevention) plans for facility
  • Promote Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, International Food Standard (IFS) and American Institute of Baking (AIB) standards
  • Facilitate RCA for all environmental and safety related incidents
  • Manage Crisis Management Program:
  • Organize and lead quarterly CM reviews
  • Ensure corporate developed CM material is available at the Jackson Mfg facility
  • Organize and assist in annual mock crisis drills
  • Compile results from mock crisis drill and submit to corporate in a timely manner


Qualifications

  • BS Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years related experience preferred, in the safety capacity in an industrial environment preferably within food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and sanitation regulations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills essential
  • Ability to influence other managers and team members
  • Computer skills required
  • Self-starter
  • Must be able to handle several tasks at one time and correctly prioritize conflicting, time sensitive tasks that also require heightened communications
