THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY LOCATED IN THE BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA, AREA FOR A QUALIFIED AND DEGREED RELIABILITY ENGINEER WITH EXPERIENCE IN PAPER, PULP, AND/OR CELLULOSE SPECIFICALLY IN A COMMISSIONING/DECOMMISSIONING ENVIRONMENT. Food experience may also be considered for this--and there are multiple other roles at other locations specifically in food, beverage, and related fields. Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.

This role will assist with the implementation, continuous improvement, and sustainability of reliability systems and processes within the manufacturing site.


  • Provides input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.
  • Lead the Defect Elimination process for root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Continually improve the preventive maintenance program using Reliability Centered Maintenance
  • Support Area Teams in achieving production/cost goals through reliability leadership
  • Support risk based inspection of fixed assets
  • Provide technical support for Operational and Maintenance Teams
  • Generate statistical reviews of equipment maintenance history and production loss

  • BS in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required
  • Experience in heavy industrial environment in operations and/or maintenance, including planning and undertaking Scheduled/Preventive/Breakdown maintenance activities of plant required
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma ideal
  • Experience with commissions, upgrades, and decommissions
  • Candidate must be PERMANENTLY eligible to work in the United States with no sponsorship required either nor or at any point in the future as no sponsorship is or will be available.
  • Must be able to relocate in a timely fashion of one month or less to the Birmingham, Alabama, area if you do not already live within a commutable distance of one hour or less. There may be another, similar opportunity located in the Tallahassee, Florida, area so please note in your answers to the attached, required Screening Questions if you are open to both locations--plus there are multiple other similar roles seeking candidates currently in food and beverage whereas that experience in the past but packaging, paper, mills, etc., are best suited to this role.
