Regulatory Affairs Manager

Reporting to the Director of Flavor Regulatory Affairs, will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate Regulatory Affairs team to ensure that company technical documentation complies with corporate and regulatory agencies’ guidelines
  • Communicate frequently with various internal personnel and with external customers
  • Work independently to provide customers with product safety/regulatory information in accordance with US FDA / FEMA guidelines, customer specific guidelines and international regulations
  • Manage and coordinate customer requests for technical information
  • Manage and coordinate the Regulatory Affairs team
  • Support the Organic and GMO Programs
  • Support Drug Master Filing with the FDA and other Pharma regulatory functions
  • Provide support to the Kosher and Halal Certifications of company Formulas
  • Provide support to customs and NAFTA requirements for company.  Prepare NAFTA
  • Certifications and identify harmonized Tariff Numbers for company products
  • Staff Training and development
  • Understand and keep track of emerging issues/changes in the food/flavor regulatory environment
  • Represent company in Industry Associations


  • BS in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry or related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in the flavor and/or food industry, with 5 years of management experience
  • Knowledge of specific customer and US FDA Food / Flavor & State Regulations
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry and mathematics essential
  • Previous experience in the Food Industry is required and Flavor Industry is preferred
  • Experience in the TTB filings of Drawback Alcohol and related TTB functions is a plus
  • Thorough understanding of industry legal/regulatory issues
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and quality aspects of the food / flavor industry is desired
  • Ability to motivate and effectively manage department members
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical thinking ability, and effective communication skills are essential
  • Ability to adjust to varied workloads with short lead times
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP SymCom/EH&S
  • The ability to work as a team player is crucial
