Under the direction of the Vice President of Product, Sales and Marketing, this position is responsible for the operation and management of assigned sales territory (Northeast or Central Area). The individual must have an entrepreneurial attitude, be results-driven, and be able to work independently without intense management oversight. Core responsibility is to achieve new business and retention sales goals for Health, Life and Ancillary product lines, as defined by management. Develop strategies for acquisition and retention of business. Keep abreast of market conditions and make recommendations to address market needs. Maintain key account relationships and become an active and involved community leader. Is responsible for all interactions involving ASA#39;s business activities in the assigned territory.
Territory will be California, Nevada, Arizona.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Achieve new business and retention sales goals set by management within assigned territory for Property and Casualty product lines, including Workers#39; Compensation.
Meets with cooperative members and other prospects to evaluate insurance needs and describe insurance offerings. Gathers all pertinent information, forms and pictures required for insurance submissions and works collaboratively with staff to ensure timely submissions to partner insurance carriers.
Solicits, services and enhances relationships with key accounts and members via regular calls and visits, and provides management with regular updates on progress and key developments.
Collaborates with sales leaders in development of sales and marketing strategy for assigned region.
Assures that communications to customer community (written and verbal) are consistent with policy and state and federal regulations.
Problem-solves and attends training to supplement and increase sales.
Follows corporate procedures and, through use of corporate-defined technology, maintains weekly and monthly reports for use by management.
Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Cooperative mission and values.
Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures.
Maintains knowledge of all relevant legislative and regulatory mandates and ensures that all activities are in compliance with these requirements.
Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Performs other functions as assigned by management.
Must have ability to travel independently in a timely fashion to visit customers throughout the assigned territory.
