General Purpose: Maintains safe & efficient operation of plant, Refrigeration and Utility equipment and process

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of Maintenance Management:
  • Safe and efficient operation of plant Refrigeration equipment and control systems
  • Safe and efficient operation of plant Utilities, Steam generation (Boiler) Air, vacuum, Potable water system, Wastewater system.
  • Ability read and understand technical manuals
  • Maintains Refrigeration / Utilities equipment in safe / efficient condition.
  • Understanding, Regulatory requirements.
  • Basic understanding of production process and equipment
  • Response to trouble calls, assist other mechanic’s with trouble calls as required.
  • Completes shift pass down, ensures shift coming on, has a detailed understanding that day’s events.
  • Insures daily, shift and department rounds are up to date and completed. Ensures management is aware of any issues noticed during the completion of checks, follows up to ensure issue had been resolved
  • Monitors plant utility systems makes required adjustments to maintain systems operations within acceptable Safe limits.
  • Ensures leader standard work, 5S, standards are upheld and in compliance.
  • Perform all duties in a manner that ensure safe, sanitary and efficient equipment / plant operations.
  • Completes PM’s and work orders. Ensuring management is aware of any open issues or problems.
  • Electronically completes / verifies time and any materials removed from stock in SAP / Access.
  • Work and communicate well with the Purchasing and receiving employees to ensure needed parts are ordered and proper inventories are in place. Follows up as required.
  • Has a good working relationship with plant managers, Supervisors, Foreman, leads and production personnel?
  • Follow all DFA’s (GMPs, SQF, and QA) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.
  • Perform all duties to ensue a safe, sanitary and efficient equipment / plant operations.
  • Has a high regard for safety (Personnel, Environment? Equipment & Plant)
  • Completes Safety Observations as required.
  • Training resource for other maintenance / production employees. Offers assistance and or direction when need to others.
  • Has a major role in the training of new maintenance employees, keeping maintenance management up to date on employee’s progression.
  • Stays current and up today on Dairy University and all assigned training.
  • Must have required tools to perform all tasks, kept in serviceable condition.
  • Strong team building skills
