Glacier Fish Company is currently the third-largest at-sea harvester of Alaska Pollock in the Bering Sea. The company has grown to include multi-species groundfish operations through its ownership and management of North Star Fishing Company which combined represents a total of seven vessels.

Responsible for full life cycle recruitment of entry level vessel positions for Glacier Fish Company and North Star Fishing Company vessels. Responsible for the development and updating of recruitment resources, attending job fairs and interviewing with the objective of providing qualified candidates to Vessel Recruiters and Hiring Managers.


  • Responsible for establishing and delivering against the hiring plan and building and maintaining a candidate pipeline aligned to the Company&##39;s needs.
  • Contribute to the development of overall sourcing channel strategy for recruiting and selection.
  • Focus on high volume entry level processor recruiting to build an applicant pool for vessel processor positions.
  • Utilize creative staffing/recruitment/sourcing strategies of active and passive candidates.
  • Partner with Vessel Recruiters to determine requirements for open positions and identify qualified candidates.
  • Review applicants, interview candidates, evaluate & make offers of employment.
  • Coordinate all reference checks; new hire paperwork and employment screens.
  • Conduct regular new hire orientations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve applicant flow, recruiting processes and candidate selection.
  • Maintain and update job postings in applicant system, external job boards and social media platforms.
  • Attend and represent company at job fairs and hiring events.
  • Maintain recruiting metrics; monitor the job market and prepare analysis as requested.
  • Work closely and stay connected with crew changes and HR operations.
  • Operate in compliance with all local, state and federal laws as well as Company policy and compliance standards.


  • Bachelor&##39;s Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years hands on high volume recruiting experience.
  • Experience recruiting in fishing, agriculture or manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Experience with applicant tracking software systems.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and the Microsoft Suite.
