The ideal candidate should be located on the west coast

Our Beloit, WI location is home to our Corporate Headquarters for the North American Region. This location has approximately 700 employees at this location that in roles such as regulatory, RD&A, finance, procurement, supply chain and customer care. It is easily commutable from the Rockford, Madison, and Milwaukee areas. You&##39;ll enjoy your time inside and outside of the office as we offer a full cafeteria, fitness center, and beautiful walking paths around the campus. What you&##39;ll do

Kerry is seeking a Research, Development and Application Scientist for a key role in the growth of the Functional Beverage and Dietary Supplement market for North America. Reporting to the RD&A Director, this position is responsible for executing on the market strategies by creating market relevant and differentiated products that meet the requirements of customers and consumers utilizing Kerry s broad and industry leading portfolio of technologies.

A key expectation of the role is to be RDA Subject Matter Expert for the Functional Beverage and Dietary Supplement market, requiring direct hands-on experience developing products and a proven record of successful product launches. The role also requires well-rounded knowledge of the market to provide input on competitive analysis, strategy, pricing, market trends, etc.

Strong communication and leadership skills are critical as the day-to-day activities involve significant cross-functional collaboration with Flavourists, Nutrition Scientists, Regulatory, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.

  • Lead formulation and development from end-to-end on internal and customer projects within North America for the Functional Beverage and Dietary Supplement market.
  • Use sound commercial and technical awareness of ingredients, processes, end use market and customer requirements to deliver on project objectives.
  • Develop innovative solutions to help grow customer and Kerry s market within cost parameters and manufacturing capabilities while ensuring all new products are legal within country of use.
  • Manage Pilot Plant validation work and facilitate first production trials of new products internally and with customers.

What you&##39;ll need to be successful

  • BSc/MSc/PhD in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in beverage product development, preferably functional beverages and/or supplements.
  • Proven success in product development resulting in successful market launch.
  • Liquid processing expertise is an advantage UHT, HTST, Hot Fill, Cold Fill, Carbonation, etc.
  • Powder processing expertise is an advantage Dry blending, spray drying, plating, agglomeration, etc.
  • Strong team player, interpersonal, organizational, communication and project management skills.
  • Knowledgeable about food chemistry, sensory, microbiology, food packaging systems and food engineering.
