Overview & Responsibilities

As a Research and Development Scientist II in our Convenience & Foodservice (C&F) segment, you will be responsible for Custom product development and Core product renovations and support for our C&F Dry Mix business. This work is critical to enable our C&F business to win in the marketplace and will give you exposure to our C&F segment, back of house empathy and how to develop a customer mindset.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to leverage your strong technical, influence, and project management skills to support many aspects of the product development cycle - innovation, renovation, commercialization and ongoing maintenance.

The ideal candidate for this role will leverage strong technical problem-solving skills and project leadership with a high bias for action to create new and improve existing products and processes while keeping a focus on customer empathy. The projects you manage in this role will provide you with technical depth and breadth, as well as cross-functional exposure.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead development for projects independently with assistance and coaching from others
  • Develop products that meet consumer and customer jobs
  • Document technical plans and test results
  • Scale products from bench to commercial scale
  • Strong partner with sales, operations and marketing


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor&##39;s Degree in Engineering, Food Science, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in product development, baking experience a plus
  • Travel (10%)
  • High bias for action and ability to advance projects with speed and accuracy
  • Strong listener and collaborator
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast changing priorities


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with foodservice customers and/or wholesale bakeries - processing/equipment experience a plus
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking
  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional and external environment and provide key product guidance
