Qualifications

  • A minimum of five to seven years of experience in the High-Speed Bakery Industry


Responsibilities

  • Enhances understanding of job expectations by coaching and leading team members in the daily performance of their assigned job duties.
  • Establishes priorities and workload of the Nutrition Services Group and individuals. Acts as initial contact for points of dispute or problem resolution between team members.
  • Assures compliance to applicable laws and regulations, exercises sound judgement and sense of urgency in support of company initiatives.
  • Applies nutrition and ingredient declaration expertise and experience to guide the work of the Nutrition Services Group.
  • Ensures team members adhere to company-wide systems and policies and procedures to ensure a safe, effective work environment with quality work output; communicates policy changes to team members.
  • Maintains a productive work environment by guiding team member performance and providing growth opportunities within the group.
  • Routinely analyses data, investigates issues, identifies solutions and recommends actions to enhance and improve processes and/or quality.
  • Makes process recommendations to management based on research.
  • Monitors nutrition claims to ensure accurate labeling information.
  • Responds to inquiries from customers and consumers regarding product content and labeling.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works with sales staff and customers to establish child nutrition information for schools.
  • Partners with NPD, Marketing and Nutrition staff to ensure formulas meet nutrient claims (low sodium, whole grain, etc.).
  • Reviews and audits ingredient and formula information from the nutrient software system to ensure accuracy of regulatory documents and the final printed label.
  • Utilizes FDA Code of Federal Regulations, pertinent USDA regulations, Department of Agriculture Child Nutrition Program Standards, Canadian Food and Drugs Act and Regulations and other pertinent international food laws in daily work.
  • Uses nutrition knowledge/background and follows public health issues/trends to apply information to potential and existing products.
