Bakery Works LLC dba Local Oven is looking to hire a QA Tech for our QA department. This is an entry-level position with an 8-hour shift running from Mondays – Fridays from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM with 30 minutes of lunch and two 15 minutes paid breaks. 

Bilingual comprehension between English and Spanish is a must. 

 

Skills: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English 
  • Detail Oriented 
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. 
  • Required to be able to follow directions 
  • Maintain strong positive work environment 

 

Preferred Skills:   

  • Previous Food Handling and/or Quality experience   
  • Adaptable to a fast and dynamic work environment   
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and beginner computer skills  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish   

 

Duties: 

  • Perform daily pre-ops and post-ops checks of the production room 
  • Complete product check point paperwork. 
  • Collect product sampling for microbial testing 
  • Perform PH tests 
  • Conduct in-house sampling and tasting 
  • Perform metal logs tests 
  • Fill out hold tags with appropriate and accurate information 
  • Abide by QA color code system 
  • Enforce HAACP and SQF guidelines 
  • Abide by and enforce Local Oven’s food GMP’s rules and regulations 
  • Perform any change-over checks in the production room, equipment, tools, utensils, and packaging 
  • Report any unsafe or hazardous work conditions. 
  • Ensure that product is being processed at the correct temperature 
  • Ensure reliable record keeping, regarding ingredients, materials use and temperatures 
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation conditions guidelines and practices are being met by all crew members 
  • Document all metal detector activity 
  • Inspect raw materials for proper specifications, codes, lot numbers and dates including information necessary for lot tracking on batch sheet and other approved forms. 
  • Inform supervisors and managers of any damaged components, equipment’s, and tools. 
  • Monitor packaging to ensure that required specifications are followed and record results on approved forms. 
  • Maintain and document weight controls for ingredients and finished products to ensure they meet and maintain appropriate targets. 
  • Communicate with the maintenance and sanitation department whenever necessary to ensure all processes and procedures are being carried out as planned. 
  • Understand and scrutinize product quality 
  • Complete and submit all QA paperwork punctually and timely by end of shift
