Quality Supervisor

The Quality Supervisor will have the following responsibilities:

  • Monitor production lines, personnel, procedures, and ensure hygiene practices are in place.  Report any incidents to Production Manager and Food Safety Manager
  • Ensure full compliance of all products in manufacturing and warehouse as per the Food Safety Plan, Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) food safety regulations and maintain the highest level of food safety
  • Ensure that facilities follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI: BRC) guidelines including developing a Food Safety and Quality Culture
  • Support the Environmental Monitoring Program including sample collection and investigations.  Prepare documentation and record results
  • Ensure communication between shifts for consistency of quality team performance
  • Lead and execute training programs for Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) team and frontline workforce with emphasis on continuous improvement and measure effectiveness of training programs
  • Support regulatory, customer Quality Management System audits and monitor corrective actions for all non-conformities
  • Responsible and accountable for Product Hold & Disposition based on Quality Inspection results, data analysis, risk assessment and business value analysis
  • Implement appropriate Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) as needed
  • Participate in HACCP and Food Safety team for product designs, manufacturing processes, Food Safety plans, environmental monitoring, pest control programs, finished product microbiological testing programs, allergen program, and sanitation programs
  • Support the Management of Change Program (MOC)
  • Support the Shift Hand Out (SHO), Daily Operation Reviews (DOR) and fully engagement is required in Value Stream Analysis (VSA)

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related discipline is required.  Candidate may substitute an Associate’s Degree with seven (7) years of experience in the food industry in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience is required
  • Valid Driver License with a good driving record is required
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience in food chemistry, microbiology, food safety is required
  • Solid understanding of food manufacturing
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret company and customer complex requirements
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
  • Knowledge of food safety fundamentals including GMPs is required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to read and interpret work order instructions and other records / checklists utilized during production is required
  • Experience in Windows-based computer environment and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) is required
  • Good attention to details is required
