An Employee Owned Company Quality Control Technician Job Description To: DATE: 2021 From: Superior Farms Human Resource Department POSITION/TITLE: Quality Control Technician – Fabrication FLSA Status: Non-exempt Classification: Full time, Regular DEPARTMENT: Fabrication REPORTS TO: Fabrication Manager POSITION SUMMARY Position requires that the employee provide Quality Control throughout the Fabrication Department. Employee will assist in the overall quality of the products being produced. Employee will ensure that all Fabrication employees are following companies GMP’s, that all the equipment meet pre-operation requirements. The position assists in the overall quality and safety of products being produced. The position requires verification and ensures compliance with the following programs and policies: Superior Farms GMP’s, HACCP plan, SSOP programs, quality policies and procedures. Additionally, assisting with the maintenance, review, signing off, report generation and record filing of the aforementioned programs. This position requires continuous work in areas that are cold, hot, and noisy. In areas that contain chemicals and is subject to outdoor environment such as rain, wind, heat and cold. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitoring, documenting and verification of CCP activities • Communicate with production management and workforce on company policies and procedures • Maintain processing and quality related documentation • Maintain and monitor compliance with USDA regulations • Participation in 3rd party audits • Perform other duties as required MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail • Strong desire to learn • Strong knowledge of raw materials and production processes • Well organized, with the ability to multi-task • Ability to work in various temperatures. • Sound judgment, problem solving and common sense thinking skills • Strong understanding of GMP’s, HACCP and SSOP’s • Ability to work early hours, overtime, weekends and holidays • Ability to read, write and communicate English at a high level • Bilingual skills-Spanish/English A+ but not required Physical Demands Standing: Frequently during assigned shift, in combination with walking. Sitting: None. Can take posture breaks as needed. Walking: Frequently during of assigned shift. Short distances within assigned work area. Lift/Carry: Occasionally during assigned shift. Weights 1-50 lbs both arms. Some projects allow for lifting not to exceed 50 lbs when using both arms. Carry, minimal requirement. Items: product, lab supplies, clipboards, etc. Assistance will be available for any lifting beyond 50 lbs. No lifting above the shoulder required Push/Pull Occasionally during assigned shift. Using both arms, using either arm. Exerting peak force of 1-50 lbs left arm. Bending Occasionally during assigned shift. Self-paced activity can minimize bending with attention to body mechanics. Assignment can conform to all bending restrictions. Kneel/Crouch/Crawl None, no requirement Reaching/Handling Self-Paced repetitive hand/wrist motion, both arms/hands. Power grasping. No above shoulder reaching both arms. Climbing *None, no requirement (only to ascend and descend staircase) Driving None, no requirement Comments
