Job Title:  Quality Assurance Manager

Reports To:  Plant Manager / Regional QA Manager  

Compensation:  $90k - $130k + bonus, benefits

Requirements:

  • BS degree in a Life Sciences or comparable industry experience
  • 4+ years of quality assurance supervisory/managerial experience in the food industry
  • Knowledge and functional training or experience with the following:  General Manufacturing Process, Quality Control functions, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), National Food Processors Association, and BRC audits, Plant Sanitation processes, and Laboratory Testing
  • Strong communication, analytical abilities, organization skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 0ffice and Lotus Notes, plus a general working knowledge of Adobe applications

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, lead and facilitate broad based product quality & food safety programs and improvements throughout the company
  • Manage 3 QA Supervisors, Microbiologists and QC Coordinator (17 employees)
  • Provide leadership, training, support, and mentoring to plant based quality personnel.
  • Define, lead, and facilitate internal and external operational audit evaluations in the quality and food safety areas of responsibility.
  • Provide quality & food safety leadership and input into product and process development activities.  Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions as needed.
  • Facilitate, monitor and manage product controls, C.O.A., allergens, rework, rejected products, and customer complaints.
  • Oversee Facility security, sanitation, pest control, micro-testing, and water quality maintenance.
  • Conduct Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and food safety audits.
