What this role is all about:

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Coordinator in Jerome, ID. The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for assisting in educating plant employees on quality requirements related to production and Agropur Ingredients pre-requisite programs. This position also assists in decision making regarding plant and process deviations and quality issues.
  • Complete and distribute various reports and spreadsheets accurately and on time.
  • Perform basic equipment calibrations accurately, as scheduled.
  • Perform product and environmental sampling accurately.
  • Perform department walkthroughs as scheduled and take appropriate corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures on a continual basis throughout the plant.
  • Communicate issues and concerns to the appropriate operators, supervisors or managers.
  • Provide Quality Assurance Training to employees throughout the plant, including GMP and Quality SOP's.
  • Oversee Quality Assurance programs such as SOP books, ingredient program and product specifications.
  • Perform product evaluations.
  • Execute Cause and Corrective Action program as appropriate.
  • Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, immediately reporting any potential food safety issues to management.
  • Receive incoming ingredients and supplies according to facility policies.
  • Ensure required Quality Assurance documentation is accurately maintained at all times.
  • Request and upload supplier documentation into Trace Gains program.
  • Update and maintain Incoming Material Specification forms.
  • Perform documentation review and inspection of all raw materials and finished product
  • Work with Corporate QA to add and/or change suppliers or materials as needed.
  • Issue supplier complaints as needed.
  • Document, review and assist with tasks for the Quality Assurance Technicians and samplers for completion.
  • Oversee and provide assistance with tasks for Quality Assurance Technicians and Samplers.
  • Assist with coverage for the Quality department as directed by Manager.
  • Provide feedback for employee performance and reviews.

The Requirements (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school required.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, MSDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP).
  • Basic math plus fractions, decimals and percentages, as well as algebraic calculations.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and field-specific software.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with executives, managers, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, establish priorities, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.
  • Dedication to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; acts with customers in mind.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exchange basic informational data (fill out forms/checklists, make own appointments, etc.); interview to gather information; advise others on alternatives/options; coach and counsel others; read, understand and explain technical data; compose business correspondence and reports, both routine and complex; attention to detail.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.

  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Minimum two (2) years of related experience preferred.
  • HACCP Certification preferred.
  • SQF Practitioner preferred.

The Location:

Our Jerome, ID, plant is home to approximately 400 employees and processes approximately 7 million pounds of milk per day. This facility produces various types of cheeses, such as; mozzarella, cheddar, provolone, muenster, parmesan, romano, Monterey jack, gouda, and asiago. They also run various whey streams, such as; deproteinized whey, sweet dairy whey, GMP, permeate, instantized, and our top-rated BiPro products.
