  • Our client, a company with a strong reputation in the Food industry is seeking candidates for their Quality Assurance and Food Safety Manager opening near Blue Earth, MN
  • They produce USDA ready to eat/ready to cook product
  • They are offering relocation assistance

What you will be doing:

  • Overall management of SQF, Food Safety, HACCP, Food Defense and Quality programs, policies, procedures, forms, verifications and validations.
  • Manage and train the SQF Practitioner, HACCP coordinator and 2 QA Supervisors and quality techs on two
  • shifts.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct Quality Assurance & SQF programs designed to ensure continuous production compliant with all regulatory and customer standards.
  • Oversee all Plant Training of SQF, Food Safety and Quality programs, Food Defense programs, all policies and procedures.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data
  • Formulate and maintain QA objectives
  • Write, audit, and manage HACCP and SSOP programs
  • Work closely with USDA.
  • Manage all internal auditing programs and all customer and third-party audits.
  • Manage the Micro Lab, any and all foreign material and any customer relations.
  • Trend and answer all Customer Complaints.
  • Oversee all regulatory compliance to include completion of any and all Non-Compliance Reports and USDA Meetings. Trend and manage all non- compliance issues.
  • Manage the plant sanitation department to include the pre-op process.
  • Trend re-cleans and any bacteria issues.
  • Overall management of the Pest Control Program.
  • Keep the quality staff informed of any customer mandated changes to a process or policy.
  • Manager the overall quality budge

Who will you report to:

  • You will report to the VP of Quality/Food Safety, as well as the VP of Manufacturing Operations

What you need to have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of Food Quality Assurance experience in a USDA processing facility (Beef, Bison, Pork, Venison, or Poultry)
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in successfully passing customer audits
  • Experience maintaining a USDA compliant program
  • Success in attaining an SQF level 3 certification
  • Strong track record for maintaining and improving systems
  • HACCP Certification required
  • SQF Practitioner Certification a plus
  • GMP knowledge
  • Food Safety/Sanitation knowledge
  • Pest Control Management experience a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • Good MS Office skills
