The Quality Control and GMP Supervisor is responsible for two key aspects of manufacturing and production. First, as QC Supervisor, this person is responsible for managing the procedures that ensure both food safety and product quality. When products do not meet those standards, this person has the authority to halt production and hold product until those standards are met. This person is responsible for preparing the plant for third party audits, and for assuring that all necessary programs have been created, implemented, and are being maintained. This includes training of personnel, when necessary. This person also works with both sales and operations personnel \ to create the procedures necessary to produce new products in the plant. This person is also a part of the HACCP team, and will assist in conducting hazard analysis and will review the HACCP plan on an annual basis.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage line QC personnel to ensure that all food safety and quality procedures are being followed.
• Train all production personnel on food safety, quality, and pre-requisite procedures.
• Assist QC personnel to ensure all record keeping forms for HACCP and quality control are being filled out correctly and completely.
• Assist production personnel in conducting HACCP verification tasks and final shipping review.
• Act as liaison with FSIS inspectors to ensure good communication and rapport, and to provide necessary information when requested.
• Create, implement, maintain, and enforce food safety and quality control procedures.
• Verify that production procedures are being followed.
• Apply and manage product hold tags, when necessary.
• Observe and verify that cleaning procedures are being followed.
• Verify that all equipment is sanitized correctly.
• Assist production in conducting environmental and product microbiological samples.
• Manage all tasks associated with third party audits
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with label regulations
• Create and maintain Product Files with notes on samples, revisions, updates, and all new product information.
• Create and maintain Ingredient Statements for new and existing labels
• Verify accuracy of Bills of Materials
• Maintain vendor files with ingredient spec sheets, nutrition information, and letters of guarantee.
• Maintain label database and conduct regular audits to verify accuracy.
• Collect nutrition information to be sent out for nutrition panels
