Regulatory Compliance

  • Review, Manage, and maintain food/health related permits for manufacturing facilities (USDA, FDA, State, County, City)
  • Prevent, respond (corrective action/preventive action) and fo up to Government (Federal-USDA/FDA/e.t.c., State, County, City) violations
  • Manage and Review HACCP  SOP/Policies/SSOP
  • Review technology transfer document and verify plant formula/spec/COA etc.
  • Coordinate and lead recalll

Quality System Management

  • Manage and Maintain all quality initiatives of the USDA/FDA/FSVP/FSMA manufacturing facilities & warehouses
  • Lead and manage 3rd party audits such as FSSC 22000, BRC etc
  • Create and update quality programs to comply with USDA, FDA regulations and third party audit (GFSI, Food Safety Certifications) and maintain Food Defense Plan
  • Follow up on internal and external food quality/safety audits & report and track corrective actions

Supplier Control

  • Create and update as necessary supplier/co-packer auditing program and manage quality systems for co-packers/suppliers (ingredient/packaging suppliers/chemicals/pest control/ e.t.c)

Product Quality/Food Safety

  • Create and manage product specifications to comply regulations and customer needs
  • Manage and operate standard for quality/food safety analysis with 3rd party lab
  • Makes collaborative food safety and quality decisions regarding ingredient, raw product, in-process product and finished product conformance

 

Customer Complaints

  • Facilitates investigation and corrective actions in response to customer and consumer product quality and food safety related questions and complaints
  • Assist with related corrective action plans and implementation as necessary

 

Sample Duties

  • Manage and arrange with sales staff proper sample protocol for inbound and outbond
  • Manage and Maintain sample inventory
  • Arrange and Coordinate shipment of samples as required

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or science based program preferred
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in food quality fields/audited food manufacturing sites/HACCP certified (USDA facility QA or related QC experience preferred)
  • Experience or trained in GFSI a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
