Position Overview

The 2nd Shift Quality Assurance Supervisor provides leadership and overall direction to the total quality program, ensuring that all internal quality standards and external regulatory standards are maintained at the plant, vendors, and (external) storage locations. QA Supervisor provides support, coaching, and training to all employees in all aspects of the Quality Program. The QA Supervisor should drive product food safety initiatives and quality continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Job Functions

  • Experience working in food manufacturing
  • Provide direct leadership and mentoring of QA techs and be responsible for their performance with respect to quality.
  • Supervises quality functions in the facility implementing and ensuring systems are in place to adhere to the company’s quality operating standards.
  • Develop and review quality and safety policies; help create, implement, and revise SOPs
  • Train and supervise employees about food safety, quality, health, sanitation, and good manufacturing policies and practices to ensure their understanding of the rules and each employee’s contribution to the production of safe, quality food
  • Inform management of all significant non-conformities and take action to maintain the integrity of the SQF program
  • Conduct in-house audits with QA managers
  • Maintain safety, sanitation, inspection, quality assurance, and GMPs for Operations team
  • Responds to reports of food safety and food quality issues.
  • Provides point leadership on quality incidents and directs and controls all activities to closure.
  • Leads quality improvement efforts working with all staff as required.
  • Leads and guides all work to control product and prevent further incident by implementingeffective solution
  • Executes both internal and external activities to assure all adversely affected products are placed on hold.
  • Shares responsibility with production manager to ensure that plant sanitation requirements are met.


  • Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree and/or ample experience in the food industry.
  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining HACCP plans
  • Formal, documented HACCP training (required)
  • Experience working in food manufacturing
  • Understanding of various analytical and testing methods
  • Experience with and understanding of verification and validation process for equipment, processes and product specifications
  • Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
