This position shall be responsible for the monitoring, auditing, documenting and reporting the state of compliance relating to quality assurance on a daily basis.  Maintain and perform training on departmental-specific policies, procedures and programs. Ensure 100% legal compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to food processes (i.e. SQF).

Job Duties:

  • Ensure 100% compliance with all customer-based policies, practices and procedures by managing the audit system dedicated to ensure proper documentation is present.
  • Responsible for training the department on the testing parameters, sampling techniques, recording documentation and equipment calibration necessary for maintaining proper statistical processes.
  • Responsible for all quality assurance and quality control programs (i.e. hold and release, recall, etc.)  from receiving raw materials to the shipment of finished goods.
  • Manage all safety programs associated with the department.
  • Maintain the specifications designed by customers or regulatory agencies by laboratory analysis or visual inspection.
  • Manage the department scheduling to include weekends and vacation.
  • Ship outgoing samples on an as needed basis.
  • Lead all 3rd party, customer and internal audits.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of Quality Standards for all products.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor and technicians as necessary.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
