Monogram Food Solutions is hiring a Purchasing Manager based in the Monogram Appetizer Foods facility in Plover, WI. Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Purchasing Manager leads a team of site-based buyers to effectively drive the procurement process at a local level. As the site-level procurement lead, the Purchasing Manager interacts with various levels of leadership from other functional teams both at a site-level and within the Monogram Support Center.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Lead and manage a team of site-based buyers to drive and execute on the procurement processes.
  • Negotiate cost and manage and execute supplier agreements.
  • Develop and manage positive working relationships with cross-functional leadership.
  • Collaborate with scheduling, warehousing, and production to ensure raw materials needs meet production demands.
  • Plan economic order quantities based on historical data and marketing initiatives.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve quality, increase service levels, and reduce costs.
  • Place purchase orders for ingredients, supplies and packaging materials as assigned.
  • Contact suppliers to get updates on orders, expedite and troubleshoot late shipments as necessary.
  • Identify and qualify potential new suppliers, specifications and cost.
  • Resolve freight/shipment issues, address quality concerns and pricing discrepancies.
  • Manage the return, replacement and credit for problem deliveries.
  • Support cross-functional activities and interact with Logistics, Quality, Marketing, R&D and Sales to assess current and future sourcing requirements.
  • Manage inventory levels through the use of tools and analysis to minimize risk of write-off while ensuring production continuity.
  • Maintain personal knowledge of market trends, including analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements.
  • Lead and /or participate in meetings involving cross-functional teams, leadership, suppliers or customers.
  • Partner with and support the Strategic Procurement team.
  • Work closely with the Procurement teams across the various plants on best practice

The Ideal Candidate will have the Following Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field.
  • 8+ years of professional purchasing experience required (Food Purchasing experience preferred).
  • 5+ years of management experience required.
  • Exhibit leadership skills and desire to coach and mentor others.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, communication skills, analytical capabilities, and customer service experience desired.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a keen sense of urgency required.
  • Comfortable with developing and presenting out topics to various groups including leadership.
  • Motivated, self-starter, able to work independently and make fact-based decisions/recommendations.
  • Able to see the bigger picture and work collaboratively with other business partners to accomplish the common goal.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel preferred, Power BI desirable) and ERP systems (MS D365 preferred).
  • Additional experience/training in process improvement (Six Sigma or other technique), critical problem solving, and project management desired.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
