Large, well established, multi facility food manufacturer is looking for an exprienced Prod/Packaging Supervisor. Offering nice salary and benefits.

Job Summary: To assure proper operation of the production and packaging departments in order to meet schedules and produce the highest quality products utilizing the most cost efficient means.  Maintain clean, safe and orderly production and packaging areas.  Assure compliance by all employees of company policies and procedures and government regulations.


  1. Position Responsibilities / Objectives
    1. Train, schedule and supervise personnel efficiently, keeping overtime to a minimum.
    2. Communicate with Production Manager on all problems, both production and labor, to ensure efficient operations.
    3. Maintains strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Sanitation and Safety standards.  Investigates on the job accidents, assures compliance with company policies and procedures.
    4. Maintain the security of the plant; making sure that the plant is secure at all times.
    5. Prepares and maintains required production reports and records, ensuring accuracy.
    6. Makes sure that all equipment is being operated properly, makes corrections as needed and reports all equipment malfunctions to the maintenance department to ensure timely repairs have been made.
    7. Follows up on reported equipment malfunctions to ensure that effective repairs have been made.
    8. Pursue ways to improve product quality, improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
    9. Provide proper counts of all products from mixing schedule to proof box to oven to packaging and reconcile with shipping.
    10. Verification that figures from all counting locations are correct, and that all QA forms are filled out correctly.
    11. Ensure the presence and readiness to work of production and packaging shift personnel.
    12. Ensure clean, safe and orderly conditions of the production/packaging areas.
    13. Ensure that proper break times are being provided and fulfilled for all personnel on duty.
    14. Train all production and packaging employees for all job functions and the company safety program.
    15. Maintain quality in accordance with product process controls: dough conditions, scaling, molding, proofing, baking, packaging, and overall scoring of finished products.
    16. Overall direction of all shift personnel.
    17. Review job performances of subordinates periodically.
    18. Recommendation of promotion/dismissal for subordinates to Production Manager.
    19. Communicate daily with subordinates about any questions or concerns.
    20. Communicate all daily events and daily sequence with previous and subsequent production supervisors.
    21. Participate in the “Buddy System” and properly report new-hire progress.
    22. Assist in training new hires or employees in new position.


  1. Education & Experience
    1. High School Diploma or its equivalency in experience and/or training.
    2. Power Industrial Training Certification
    3. At least 5 years of Production/Packaging Bakery Experience
