JOB DESCRIPTION

The position of Production Supervisor is required to follow, enforce and monitor process controls, operating procedures, and requirements set up by the FDA and upper management for the Blending, Filling and Packaging of materials. They are responsible for coordinating the activities between production and all other departments. This person schedules employees and/or temporary workers along with keeping raw materials, WIP and packaging to fulfill production requirements. This position is also responsible for keeping the facility up to GMP policies and practices. This position exists to ensure products meet all specifications, in doing so, the Production Supervisor must communicate with employees within their facility and other Kent Precision Foods Group entities as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Responsible for the effective, efficient, and high quality completion of all work by production employees on the shift
  2. Executes the production schedule as directed
  3. Ensures that all blending and mixing room SOP’s are followed
  4. Sees that all production areas are maintained in clean, neat and orderly fashion
  5. Ensures that production personnel correctly perform line quality checks
  6. Ensures that production personnel correctly complete production documentation requirements
  7. Ensures that the next shift is set up for an efficient, effective start-up
  8. Maintains raw material areas in a neat and organized manner
  9. Works with shipping to ensure accurate and timely shipment of all orders
  10. Coordinates personnel needs with all other supervisors and managers
  11. Reviews and verifies HACCP and production documents to improve productivity and efficiency
  12. Willingly works and supports other shifts
  13. Has a practical and working knowledge of the custom dry blend and packaging business
  14. Works closely with Quality Assurance to ensure that no “off grade” product is shipped
  15. Temp agencies – maintains working relationship with temp agency staff
  16. Performs all other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSREQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor Degree preferred in related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience supervising or leading teams in a manufacturing setting
  • Preferably experience working in the food manufacturing industry

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to assist in the creation and writing of procedures, work manuals and plans
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner at all positions and levels including but not limited to contacts in plant management, production personnel, customer service representatives, procurement and sales
  • Ability to work with discretion and diplomacy when handling sensitive matters
