Description: Our client is currently seeking a Production Supervisor
This job will have the following responsibilities:
- My client is looking for 3 Production Supervisors reporting to the Shift Manager. The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and direction to department employees, and manage the daily operation of the department while maintaining USDA, QA and company standards on quality, safety and cost. The supervisor is responsible for achieving immediate and short-term objectives as provided by management.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise, manage and direct department hourly employees ensuring safe food handling practices and regulatory compliance, while producing quality products. Responsible for staffing and continuous improvement of department while positively leading and impacting their team through excellent training and coaching. Assist in the preparation for and execution of customer, corporate, and third party audits. Produce and distribute production reports as requested by management. Control cost and manage resources within established goals. Confer with other supervisors and shift leaders to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments. Ensure all regulations relating to safety, security, GMP, sanitation, etc. are adhered to, and that breaches in policy are communicated and disciplined appropriately. Direct reports include lead and line employees. All other duties as assigned by management. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED required, with Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Animal Science, Poultry Science or related field preferred. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in poultry or meat processing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, English language skills (reading and writing) required, Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills helpful but not required. Must have strong communication and interpersonal (people) skills. Proficient computer and analytical skills needed. Basic knowledge of all floor production level operations. Ability to learn and understand product requirements of chefs in restaurants and customers in stores. Report the procurement of sub-standard products Detail oriented. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Working and moving for 8 hours on a wet, and/or moist, dry, greasy floors, which includes metal and plastic gratings. Exposure to temperature ranges of (90 to 50 degree Fahrenheit) with ambient humidity, noise exposure ranges of (85 db to 94 db) and light intensity ranges of (200 to 50 ft candles). Bending twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angles, weights, heights, interval of time, objects grasped and body positions depending upon the task being performed. Exposure to chlorinated water (50 ppm, ammonia vapors 5ppm), and other chemicals found in a poultry production environment.
