Job Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for supporting the corporate function of purchasing, planning, receiving, and shipping across 5 locations. The ability to execute systems, ensure accuracy, and timeliness are imperative in this job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

A Production Planner is expected to perform one or more of the following essential job functions based on the business assignment (detailed):

  • Create new item codes, bill of materials and routing in ERP, as well as GTIN creation, when necessary.
  • Oversees product flow of MSC product to ensure the MSC product is handled according to process requirements.
  • Execute 3rd party product sourcing plans, including communication with suppliers and internal communication of receiving dates.
  • Execute purchasing plan for consumables, ingredients, packaging, and CO2.
  • Responsible for completing new vendor setup process.
  • Understand current material availability and lead times and reasonably predict future availability based on the market.
  • Maintain rolling production schedule for single location and communicate bi-weekly to interested parties
  • Centralized purchaser of computer equipment and telephone service.
  • Coordinate removal or disposal of surplus materials.
  • Maintain document control for production forms including revisions of current forms and standardization company wide.
  • Support quarterly internal audits of assigned processes.
  • FedEx samples upon request
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills / Abilities / Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Business or related field required; and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics (or similar programs)
  • Familiarity with administrative duties
  • Typing speed and accuracy
  • Attention to detail
  • Confidentiality
  • Organization skills, with an ability to stay focused on assigned tasks

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to sit; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 20 pounds or less. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
