Job Title: PD Lab Assistant
Department: Product Development
Reports To: PD Lead
Shift: Days

Overview: Supports PD Leads and PD Specialists with bench, pilots and document preparation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support Leads and Technicians with bench and pilots
  • Support Leads and Technician in preparing documents
  • Basic lab cleaning
  • Requests material from internal/external areas for PD projects
  • Support PD Leads to ensure crews have supplies and materials needed to perform tasks
  • Prepares regular progress reports
  • Organize and maintain Kit materials in the PD Lab
  • Keeps a current laboratory notebook of all projects
  • Works to keep a clean and safe laboratory environment
  • Cleaning and care of laboratory equipment
  • Focused learning on the operation of all solid dose development, testing, and production equipment including tablet press, tablet coater, encapsulation, roll compaction, blenders, disintegration, moisture, friability, bulk density and particle size determination instruments


Requirements:

  • High School Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Proficient in basic mathematics and the metric system
  • Able to complete accurate, precise work in a timely manner
  • Able to function in a laboratory and production setting
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Basic understanding of cGMP practices, sanitation practices and safety practices preferred
  • Experience in "Office" programs including document creation, spreadsheets and e-mail
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal customers and suppliers both verbally and in writing
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications


Work Conditions

  • Regularly subject to normal office or laboratory environment
  • Occasionally subject to normal warehouse and production environment
  • Occasionally subject to high noise levels where hearing protection is required and all personnel protective equipment is required
  • Occasionally subject to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, powders, dust and other particles
