Procurement Manager


Position Summary:  We are working with a dairy manufacturer in Seattle that is looking for a detailed Procurement Manager for their growing company! This role will lead the procurement team while focusing on sustainable sourcing and cost savings. For this role you must have leadership experience with procurement & sourcing in the food industry! Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a procurement team that sets an example for professional integrity and puts in place efficient processes and systems
  • Promote empowerment within team to make sound decisions regarding new material sources and vendor qualifications
  • Maximize on-time deliveries & minimize shortages by working with suppliers & manufacturers
  • Perform spend, contact & market analysis
  • Prepare & conduct bid events
  • Establish supply & business continuity plans
  • Monitor supplier performance & capabilities and respond decisively
  • Develop long term relationships & strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure integrity of raw materials
  • Build strong relationships with vendors
  • Lead CI initiatives within procurement
  • Maintain market knowledge to identity key opportunities
  • Work with other management to establish short and long-term business objectives
  • Communicate and collaborate with operations
  • Participate in cross functional team meetings
  • Utilize ERP systems to drive effective data analysis
  • Support innovation projects through the commercialization process
  • Follow & ensure organizational compliance to quality system and GMP programs


Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field is required
  • 5-7 years’ experience in CPG food manufacturing with a proven history of accomplishments in procurement and sourcing
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Past experience managing sourcing projects
  • Past experience building an ERP system is ideal
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator. Able to communicate cross functionally
  • Must be pragmatic and tactical
