Our global procurement team has three hubs located in Panama, Switzerland and Malaysia. We also have regional US buyers located in Ohio and other US locations.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • This position reports through our newest US business, Nestle Coffee Partners based out of Seattle. We have created this new company to be our coffee powerhouse in the US, bringing together some of the world&##39;s most loved and new coffee brands: Starbucks, Chameleon Coffee, Blue Bottle Coffee, and Nescafe. Three of these brands are new acquisitions for Nestle and we are in the process of operationalizing the acquisitions. From a procurement perspective this is an exciting transformation time, with lots of innovation and new products to develop and offer our customers. This role is for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who is happy playing the grey areas and doesn&##39;t need everything set out in black and white. There are lots of unknowns, processes that need to be developed, and new stakeholders to work with. Many of our stakeholders are new to the Nestle family and therefore soft skills are extremely important in this role: influencing, challenging, and negotiating skills are essential.
  • Our procurement team in Nestle Coffee Partners, like every Nestle global business, is made up of Procurement Business Partners. Our BPs work with the different business areas to connect with the global purchasing teams to drive savings and innovations. It is a unique role in procurement that requires you to wear many hats: representing the NCP business, or the global category buying team \u2013 depending on what the particular challenge you are solving for that day is. On a day to day basis you might be delivering savings, new supplier innovations, or fixing a supply crisis.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand business requirements and challenges; including priorities, must win battles and key value drivers.
  • Influence the global category buying teams at the appropriate level so the category sourcing strategies and priorities are built to meet business objectives.
  • \tUnderstand and drive with finance all procurement inputs to the P&L for the business related to direct and indirect spend
  • Procurement lead on innovation projects partnering with category procurement teams to identify and onboard any new suppliers, ensure project timelines are met, and mitigate any supply risks associated with the project.
  • Manage savings pipeline and communication to the business to ensure overall margin objectives are met.
  • Report monthly purchase price variance (PPV) to the business so that business margin forecasts reflect the latest market conditions and savings pipeline.
  • Proactively identify and communicate changes in demand or business strategy to category procurement teams to mitigate penalties or supply shortages for the business.
  • Support Business sales team to manage customer communications in the event of supply risks while partnering with supply chain to minimize any customer impact.
  • Lead sourcing strategies at business level.
  • Identify necessary activities and resources needed to achieve implementation of chosen sourcing strategies and ensure strategies are implemented.
  • Ensure supplier selection is approved by Business stakeholders and communicate award decision to those affected.
  • Provide compelling category and sourcing insights to the business to contribute to overall strategies.

Consolidate material cost forecast reports (data, graphs, commentary) and present to Business stakeholders as appropriate.
Provide Business feedback to Category Management Team.
Play an active role in providing feedback to category procurement teams on supplier performance needed to meet business objectives.
Participate in key meetings, ensure right stakeholder engagement, and escalate through senior contacts with local suppliers where needed.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports to a Business Partner Manager, Leader or Head of Procurement. General direction and delegation from team members that the associate supports. May also receive some direction crossfunctionally from the business.

FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT:
Business decisions will be based on research and analysis. Quality data and thoroughness of the analysis is required to ensure confidence in business decisions.
May be responsible for ensuring packaging material categories/subcategories are purchased from approved vendors and may be accountable for value added, compliance, cost improvement and other performance metrics if Associate manages a small business.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL
Bachelor&##39;s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics/Transportation or other applicable discipline required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years sourcing, purchasing and/or material management, technical/manufacturing experience and/or or equivalent experience required. Internal Development Trainee candidates on second and third rotations will also be considered.
  • SAP, Ariba and INexus experience preferred
  • Required proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

SKILLS:

  • Candidate must be detail oriented and a selfstarter
  • Proven ability to analyze and present findings in a clear and cohesive manner
  • Ability to work independently to identify and research relevant market, industry, and supplier information.
  • Capable of navigating through ambiguous situations and managing external vendor relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support multiple sourcing initiatives
  • Ability to develop processes and/or to identify continuous improvements to help better coordinate activities
  • Must be exceptional relationship builder and stakeholder manager and have the ability to form and grow own networks
