GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Perform all tasks necessary to process UHT products in the cleanest, most efficient means possible while adhering to all legal and company approved specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand all aspects of both the DASI and Ultrasys processors, including aseptic tanks and valve clusters. These functions include the sterilization, operation, CIP and basic maintenance of this equipment.
  • Coordinate the efficient processing of all products in order to maximize packaging efficiency and increase the overall output of the plant. Supply product to the fillers as needed.
  • Keep neat and accurate records of all system parameters on recording charts and processing logs. These readings include temperatures, flows, levels, chemical concentrations and pressures.
  • Alert the appropriate individuals (supervision and/or maintenance) when any deviation from the above occurs.
  • Monitor and maintain glycol levels and concentrations.
  • Keep all required areas (DASI, Ultrasys, aseptic valve, aseptic tank and control rooms) clean and well maintained at all times.
  • Stay in constant communication with supervisors, batching operators, receivers, lab and packaging personnel to insure smooth operation of facility.
  • Operate CIP system one during aseptic tank cleaning. Perform manual cleaning on systems and related equipment while they are in CIP.
  • Perform all necessary PMs on equipment. Suggest any new preventative maintenance tasks that could be added to improve efficiency and eliminate downtime and product failures. Tasks include, but not limited to valve and pump rebuilds as well as filter and gasket replacement.
  • Work with maintenance personnel to effect repairs as necessary.
  • Assist in other areas of the plant as instructed by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Follow all company/governmental Safety Policies & Regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Generally requires employee to sit for most of work shift. On occasion employee will be required to stand or walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Use of hands to reach and feel
  • Required to talk, hear, taste and smell
  • Occasionally required to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
