The Process Engineer is responsible for kitchen centric process design, operation and implementation. He/she will focus on the improvement of these processes in order to increase efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability.


  • Reviews kitchen processes, engineering specifications, and performance data to configure and implement improvements to optimize productivity and performance and reduce waste.
  • Observes and assess processes, taking measurements, interpreting data, and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Develops best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output. Performs process simulations as needed.
  • Manages cost and time constraints; performs risk assessments; and provides process documentation and operating instructions.
  • Supports the driving of waste and cost reduction of the kitchen process through data analysis and execution of proposed projects.
  • Provides full project management tasks on key Processing projects. Includes but not limited to creating project justification, budget development, creating bid packages, providing, and maintaining project updates/plans, establishing project timelines, developing training as required and ensuring successful execution and successful completion of projects
  • Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions. Creates and maintains a robust corrections of errors process.
  • Prepares and provides various reports and analyses on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis, including KPIs ad metrics. Develops additional metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Ensures and maintains a safe and healthy work environment through compliance and enforcement of company standards and procedures and compliance with legal regulations, including, but not limited to PPE, GMP, etc.
  • Collaborates with IT, Maintenance, and other functional areas to design, propose and implement solutions and to ensure equipment and facilities are maintained.
  • Trains, mentors and develops Kitchen staff, including documentation of SOPs and training documents,
  • Willing to cover the management of the department as part of a rotation which includes Saturdays.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing process, ergonomics and machine utilization.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation and ability to transform results and process through the application of Lean techniques.
  • Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using Wonderware a plus
  • Must have strong understanding of production metrics, with the ability to provide reports and analysis of results, and the development and implementation of action plans to further change and improve performance.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team to drive "Continuous Improvement" culture.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage many tasks at one time.


  • Minimum five-years of process engineering experience in manufacturing environment and broad knowledge of production operations.
  • A bachelor&##39;s degree in engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process related standards and understanding of health and safety principles.
  • Experience in consumer package products or similar industry and prior food processing preferred.
  • Training and experience in Lean and Six Sigma, or equivalent.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
